House-

The
Colonel-
The
Colonel, is a 750-passenger tour boat that
offers a unique view of Moody Gardens and an enjoyable cruise.
While on this 19th century replica sternwheeler, you'll see
Galveston from a

Galveston Island Ferry-
One of the
most popular
attractions in Galveston is the Galveston Island Ferry. Always a
favorite, riders can park and ride the ferry or drive their vehicle
aboard the ferry. Ferries run approximately every fifteen to twenty
minutes. If you're looking for a great way to have fun and not spend
any money, then add this to your 'to do' list. The ferry is free.

Seawolf
Park-
Drive to
Pelican Island via Seawolf Parkway
51st Street. Attractions feature a World War II submarine (the USS
Cavalla), a destroyer escort (the USS Stewart), and other military
hardware. Take the tour. The park is built on an immigration
station
site and offers a three-story pavilion. Enjoy awesome views
of
Galveston harbor, picnic sites, a playground area and a lighted
fishing pier. Winter months offer some of the best flounder fishing
anywhere.
Pier 21 Theater-
The Pier 21 Theater offers
a multimedia
presentation of the Great
Storm. Visitors get a glimpse of the
devastating 1900 Storm through a multi-image documentary
experience. The
27-minute story gives actual accounts from
diaries and letters of
survivors
during and after the storm.
Birding-
Galveston is well
known to 'birders' as 3/4's of all
North American species travel through
Galveston in the winter
and spring migrations.
Water and shore birds are common on
the Island
throughout the year while rare species are spotted
during fall and spring
migration.
Golf-
Galveston has two golf courses; a public course,
Moody
Gardens
Golf Course and, a private course at the Galveston

Surfing-
The city of
Galveston has designated certain areas
of the beach for that purpose. They
include the beaches between
the 17th Street & 21st Street rock groins; between
the 25th Street
& 29th Street rock groins; between the 29th Street & 53rd
Street
rock groins; 300 feet west of 61st Street, and west of
91st Street. Surfboard
rentals are available at most surf shops
located along Seawall Boulevard.
